One chilly day in July we decided to check out the popular Greenmarket Square in Cape Town’s CBD. It was Youth Day, but there wasn’t much activity happening around the Mother City this year.
Intending on going to the Waterfront, I suggested having lunch at an Italian restaurant called Doppio Zero, I spotted along St. George’s street.
The interior decor was really nice, and they had a large clay oven in the corner to make their speciality wood-fired pizzas. I opted for a chai tea latter, while the rest of the party chose milkshakes.
We decided to split a spicy salami pizza, topped with peppers, chilli and mushrooms. Yum.
Good service, great vibe and comfortable setting for the winter. This is a great spot for freshly baked goods and Italian dishes!

They are on the corner of Church and Greenmarket Street in St. George’s Mall.
