A friend of mine had won tickets to see the Shelby House exhibition at the Daelim Museum in Jongno, Seoul. She kindly invited me and another friend to be her guests, as we are all art lovers. So one hot, muggy and humid Sunday in Seoul, I met with my friends and went to check out the exhibit.
I saw adverts for this exhibition all over my social media 2 months ago. The Mademoiselle Prive promotions combined cool character animations of Coco Chanel and a look through her design process. The process of how Coco Chanel came to build her brand and how the current Chanel still uses her history to define the brand today, is what keeps the brand moving forward. The Mademoiselle Prive exhibition has come to Seoul, and is being showcased at the D-Museum. I went to check it out over the weekend.
So I’m still a bit Jeju obsessed. My Spring weekend on the amazing volcanic island of South Korea has left me daydreaming of it even more, now that the hot sticky summer of Korea has hit the country full force.
Koh Samui is a small island off the Eastern coast of Thailand and is situated in the Gulf of Thailand. This island is a true gem, and it’s also very popular with tourists. I was lucky to visit the island twice. In this post I will just show the highlights of what you can do for the ultimate relaxing holiday on Koh Samui.
I had to go on a week-long study trip in Romania in 2015. It was part of the international exchange programs between my French university and a Romanian one. Romania is starting to invest more in developing its industrial and manufacturing industries as it opens itself up internationally. Romania has long been overlooked as a tourist destination. However, over the last 3 years, the country is becoming a popular travel destination as the country develops itself as an industry leader and brand.
The Leeum Museum has been on on my museum list for a while. Before, me and my friend were always too busy to visit and then I left Korea.. Now, that I had returned the opportunity to finally visit the museum was a must. So on a rainy public holiday, these two art lovers set out to fulfil our museum goal.
Besides it’s amazing natural beauty and outdoor hiking trails, Jeju Island is also famous for it’s many museums and theme parks around the island. One of its most recent attractions is the new exhibition hall, Hello Kitty Island. A new complex built to indulge in the ultra-cute world of Sanrio’s most beloved character…Hello Kitty! I first heard of the place two years ago when I spotted it on Instagram. As fate would have it, I was going to spend a weekend in Jeju….and Hello Kitty Island was on top of my to do list!
Jeju Island has been on my Korean bucket list for some time. The island’s popularity has grown so much over the past 5 years and it continues to be the perfect getaway destination. I finally decided to take a short weekend trip down South to the island to get a breath of fresh air and relax. Continue reading “Amazing Jeju Island”
While walking about the streets of Hongdae recently, I noticed that the Hello Kitty Cafe was not longer in its usual alley way off the busy shopping street. However, further down towards the university campus, I was surprised to find a large gate entrance with the Hello Kitty Cafe insignia and logo on the front. This cafe got one serious upgrade! So I’ll share some of the pictures in this post!
In my first post on the Seoul Lantern Festival, I referred to the one that takes place in late Autumn along the river. There is in fact two. This lantern festival is a month long and is in relation to Buddha’s birthday on 5 May.
I was invited by a wonderful new travelling friend to join in on the Spring Lotus Festival that took place on the weekend before Buddha’s birthday.
