If you go to a far away and super expensive place with limited time, do things that are unique and that cannot be done anywhere else.
I planned to see Hello Kitty’s house, Mt. Fuji, the cherry blossoms in Spring, Harajuku and to dress up as a Geisha!I planned this activity 2 months in advance. There are various studios offering different packages where they dress you up, do the make-up and have a professional photo shoot in a studio and outside. This all depends on the studios.I did the whole package with the indoor professional shoot and outdoors by the main temple in Asakusa with printed pics etc.
They even had some pics of previous celeb clients who also came and did this fun experience while in Japan(like my fave glam Queen Betsy Johnson!!).
For those following Jean-Paul Gaultier, you are sure to have come across his latest and super cute campaign featuring well-loved cartoon strip characters Popeye the sailor and Betty Boop! I absolutely love it!
I personally love fun references to pop culture especially in cartoons from childhood days. Gaultier is also known as the Enfant Terrible in the French fashion world and is well known for making the famous striped tee or mariner a popular staple item in our everyday closets.
Rumours already began circulating last month during fashion Week that YSL’s (now branded Saint Laurent) head designer and creative director Hedi Slimane was leaving.
A similar buzz also occurred last year during the exit of Dior’s Raf Simmons. Both designers were a fave of mine, with their collections featuring every season in my top faves list.
What is a Matric Ball? For those of you living outside of South Africa, it’s the Senior Prom. The final fancy party as we say farewell to out class mates of high school before we go our separate ways.
Girls go giddy, as they watch all the glam events and get the magazines to browse the best dressed lists of all the stars to see what they want their dress to look like. The Matric Ball is essentially the first major fashion event of our lives, even for those not into fashion! ^^ It also served as an escape from the reality of the pending final exams at the end of the year.
In 2012, I got to see the Art and Fashion Grads exhibition in Seoul. I was invited by a student to see her sister’s final project being showcased at Hongdae’s Art Museum on the campus!
I’ve never actually went to the university, the location is popular for partying, shopping and clubbing and that’s all I had ever went to Hongdae for.
