Koh Samui is a small island off the Eastern coast of Thailand and is situated in the Gulf of Thailand. This island is a true gem, and it’s also very popular with tourists. I was lucky to visit the island twice. In this post I will just show the highlights of what you can do for the ultimate relaxing holiday on Koh Samui.
In my first post, I spoke about staying at Kuta beach, the main area on Bali Island. In this post, I will talk about what there is to discover and experience on this amazing island. During the day we made plans to visit Ubud, do the popular coffee tasting, visit the local textile looms, see the island’s active volcano and eat some local cuisine by the scenic rice paddies.
In 2013, me and a group of friends decided to spend a week in Bali for the New Years celebrations. This was the peak season, so keep that in mind when reading this. Bali is a popular destination because of it’s amazing beaches and coral reefs. In that particular week it was raining A LOT! There was non-stop rain for 3 whole days!
After my year in Peru, me and 2 friends decided to take a short holiday in Argentina where I was to get my flight back to Cape Town. One friend decided to take a flight from Peru, while me and another friend decided to take a bus. The bus trip would take us across the South American continent from Lima to Buenos Aires.
What is a holiday without the beach? I judge a good vacation by the quality of beaches the country has, if they have any of course. Cape Town, has no shortage of the best beaches, and they rank top of my list. Cape Town is a great holiday destination. It’s expensive, but the beaches and relaxed life are totes worth it. Take it from me, I was born here!
Koh Phi Phi is an archipelago off the Western coast of Thailand in the Indian Ocean. It falls under the Krabi province and houses one of the most visited islands and tourist destinations in Thailand. The island is also the second largest off Phuket. The islands were originally used as coconut plantations and is believed to have been home to one of Thailand’s oldest communities since B.C times. The islands are beautiful, and there are so much more to discover than the ones mentioned in this post.
