I’ve always seen such pretty pics with the Eiffel Tower in Paris amidst cherry blossoms! Since living in Asia, I have fallen in love with Spring and the blooming of the cherry blossoms every year.
Cherry blossoms are not native to Europe, so these carefully planted trees around Paris’ famous landmarks are a treasure to behold after a dull and dreary Winter. You can find them all over the city in parks and other popular places. So one warm sunny Spring day in Paris, I took a study break and headed off to the Eiffel Tower with my camera to capture these short-lived blossoms in bloom!

I love animals and nature. I also like taking photos of them! I promised myself a trip up South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route to see the elephants.
I originally planned to go to the ADDO Park, a real nature reserve on the borders between the Western and Eastern Cape, but a family member suggested the Knysna Elephant Park. The Knysna Elephant Park is a great experience, if you want to really interact with the elephants and if you are on a budget. You get to meet them, feed them, touch them, connect with them and take lots of cool close-up pics of them too.

I love flowers. I like photographing them, drawing them and just being around
them….minus the bees and gross bugs of course.
Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town has an awesome flower collection and it’s one of my fave places to go and relax on sunny days. Here is a small collection of my faves from my last visit. Now, I usually limit an album to my top fave 10, but they’re flowers….don’t be impossible!

I did a trip to Japan in 2013. I specifically went in the beginning of April as that was the time of the famous Sakura Festival at Mount Fuji. I was staying in Tokyo, and Mount Fuji is about a 3 hour drive away from the city. The festival and blooming of the cherry blossoms are very specific to these two weeks in April. I was so intent on capturing those photos of the scenery.

Nantes is a small city in the West of France, and proved to be quite charming. Nantes formerly served as a trading post for the colonial days in France. It has a quiet a sad history as it also served as the main trading ports for slavery across the world. We had to go to Nantes on a quick study trip on local textile manufacturing for fashion and apparel.
Nantes is really modern in terms of its architecture in comparison to Paris. The city centre still retains its old world charm and tradition. Its also the place to go shopping. Note that goods are significantly cheaper than Paris, and there was a bigger selection of small Parisian boutiques a fairly good prices.
