On 13 November 2020, I was graciously hosted by Tryn Restauarnt at the Steenberg Wine Estate to sample their new Dinner menu.
The restaurant is set in a traditional Cape Dutch Gable building, yet the interior houses various dining spaces in bursts of rich colour with touches of Art Deco.
I have been a few times to Steenberg Estate for wine tasting, but not yet to dine. Tryn is a rather new addition to the beautiful estate and the name is short for Catharina Ras, the 17th Century founder of the Estate. Their menus are varied and easily accommodates for all diet preferences.
Known for adding a touch of Asian and Middle Eastern flair to her classically prepared food, Chef Kerry enlivens the familiar with exciting twists and flavour combinations to delight all palates.– Tryn Restaurant
The dishes were well portioned each with a variety of intense and spectacular flavours.
Boasting excellent food and excellent views all around, Tryn is an experience that cannot be missed if you are in the Cape. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the Cape Winelands in any season.
